Ale Bajji (Kannada: ಅಳೆ ಬಜ್ಜಿ) is a dish based on butter milk or curds. Ale means butter milk in Tulu language. It is part of Udupi cuisine. In this dish, cooked vegetables are added to butter milk or curd and seasoned with spices. These dishes are served with cooked rice. The vegetable used may be potato, sweet potato, okra, etc. In Ale-bajji, the amount of vegetables will be more as compared to Thambuli or Tambuli. Ale Bajji is less watery as compared to Tambuli. Another difference is that in general leafy vegetables are used in Tambuli.
